BRC Power Optimizer M600-M Module Optimizer with Monitoring
- Maximum input power of 600 W with up to 99.3 % efficiency
- Module-level monitoring via BRConnect and the BRC Power Manager App
- Communication with the gateway via powerline over the DC cable
- Full and partial optimization with 4 to 25 optimizers per string
- Ultra Fast MPP tracking and standby function
- IP68 protection, operation from -40 °C to +85 °C, Stäubli MC4 connectors
Important: Inverters with more than 16 A MPP current
For inverters with an MPP input current (IMPP) of more than 16 A, full optimization with M600-M optimizers is not permitted. For MPP trackers whose datasheet specifies an MPP current per MPPT higher than 16 A, a maximum of 50 % of the modules in that string may be equipped with M600-M optimizers. This can easily be checked using the BRC Inverter Checker.
The BRC Power Optimizer M600-M is connected in parallel to the PV module via plug-and-play and reduces yield losses caused by shading, different orientations or module tilts. When shading occurs, it is activated automatically, similar to a bypass diode, and adjusts output voltage and current to match the string current. This allows the available module power to keep flowing into the system.
The optimizer is installed by a qualified electrician using an M8 screw on the mounting rail or, optionally, directly on the module frame using the BRClamp. It is maintenance-free, and thanks to long-life electronics based on GaN technology, BRC Solar offers a 25-year warranty.
Further Installation Requirements
- No parallel strings: The M600-M may only be used if exactly one string is connected to each MPP tracker.
- Connection sequence: Always connect the short cables to the module first, then the long cables to the string. Pay attention to the polarity.
- Measurements: PV measuring devices cannot measure the current in fully optimized systems. It can be measured during operation using a clamp meter. Short-circuit current measurements with M600-M optimizers do not produce usable results.
- Monitoring: The monitoring function can only be used with the BRConnect and is not compatible with the BRConnect 2.0.
